| Description: | ...Started in 1963 by Ace and Florence Fogdall after selling their local Ford dealership. Ace began in business in Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1933 as the Black Hawk Cab Company. In 1935, he began an auto repair business and in 1939, a Studebaker automobile franchise. The Ford dealership was purchased in 1953. Ace and Florence bought their first Airstream in 1958 and soon saw that it was the recreation WAVE of the future. The RV business was initiated in 1963. Their son, Jim, joined the family business full-time in 1970 after serving the American Lutheran Church in Columbia, South America from 1967 to 1970. The business has steadily grown since then. It occupied a central location of six acres along University Avenue in Cedar Falls. In June 2004, Fogdall RV moved into a newly constructed facility at the corner of US highways 20 & 58. Fogdall RV serves the Midwest with customers throughout Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Missouri. Ace Fogdall RV is the proud recipient of numerous industry awards. In 1988, it received the industry's most prestigious Trailer Life "Dealer of the Year" award. Since then, Fogdall's have received numerous manufacturer awards for customer service. Jim Fogdall has been Chairman of the Board of the Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) - the national association of RV dealers. Jim Fogdall states: "We want our ultimate critic to be our retail customer. Whether it's parts, service or sales, we strive to have our Customer Satisfaction Index at 100 percent!" |
